 | 07:30 pm - Commenting Using OpenID If you do not want to create an InsaneJournal account, but would like to participate in my journal by commenting, there is an easy way to do so:
- You will need an account at an OpenID provider. Vox, Wordpress, Livejournal, My OpenID, etc. If you aren't sure if you already have an OpenID account, a full list of providers can be found here.
- You can log into IJ by either:
- Clicking the "Log in using OpenID" radio button on the comments page (see below for an example). Enter "yourusername.yourprovider.com" as your log in information. You will be taken to your provider and prompted to approve the login.
- Going to http://insanejournal.com/openid/. Enter "yourusername.yourprovider.com" as your log in information.
- You will be taken to your provider and prompted to approve the login. Click "Yes" or "Yes, always".
- You will be given an IJ profile with this username, and/or your comment will be posted. You may use this account to comment on any journal on the site from now on, without needing another username/password combination or letting IJ have any of your information!
If you are still confused, you may want to check out this video, which shows how to log into InsaneJournal (and other LiveJournal clones) using OpenID. For more information on OpenID, what it is, and how it works, please go here.
